Step 2: Apply for Financial Aid |

Step 3: Access Your Network ID |
|
Beginning March 21, you will be able to create your network identification user name and password by visiting the Account Management System. You will need your University Identification Number which is listed on your Certificate of Admission. Your network identification will enable you to access information from OneStart to help you manage your academic life. PLEASE NOTE: If you set up an IU guest account to check your admission status, you must set up a new IU computer account in order to register for classes and manage your student record. |

Step 4: Take Placement Test |
|
Take Placement Tests. Students who have not completed a college-level English or mathematics class are required to complete campus placement testing. Option 1: Test prior to your STAIR session date (see below). To view the placement test schedule and get information about the placement tests, go to www.ius.edu/sdc/ or call the Student Development Center at 812-941-2312. Option 2: Special placement test appointments can be made on STAIR session dates (see below) and outside of normal testing hours. Please call the Student Development Center at 812-941-2312, or send an email with your request to sesdc@ius.edu. This option is provided for students with restrictive work schedules and for those who live a great distance from campus.

Step 5: Attend a STAIR Session |
|
All first-year students will be invited to a mandatory Suceess Through Advising, Information and Registration (STAIR) session. Invitations will begin going out in March, and sessions will be offered from April through August. The earlier you attend, the sooner you can secure your schedule at IU Southeast! Visit New Student Programs to view STAIR dates and register online. |

Step 6: Pay for Classes |

Office of the Bursar (812) 941-2335 After you register for classes, you will receive a Schedule Confirmation listing the courses, meeting times, and locations of your classes and a Statement of Accounts listing charges for tuition and fees and any credits for financial aid and scholarships which have been awarded. You will need to pay fees by the date indicated on the Statement of Accounts. Payment options, including a three payment Personal Deferment plan are available. Visit the Office of the Bursar for more information. |

Step 7: Attend Orientation |
|
Campus Life (812) 941-2316 All degree-seeking students new to IU Southeast are expected to attend Orientation. During Orientation, you will be officially inducted into the IU Southeast community. You will also have opportunities to meet faculty, staff and other new students; learn about academic expectations; locate your classrooms; get your student ID created; purchase books; and take a campus tour. Visit New Student Programs to learn more and register online. |

Step 8: Begin Class |

Information Desk (812) 941-2333 You’ll find the academic calendar and starting date for each semester posted on the Campus Calendar. Prior to this day, you are encouraged to come to campus to find your classrooms. Your Schedule Confirmation lists the department and course, section, credit hours, time, days, building and room. A campus map and legend in the Schedule of Classes provides you with key information for identifying the building by the two letter building codes. If you feel lost, feel free to ask students, faculty and staff for help or go to locations such as the Information Desk in the University Center South. |

Step 9: Be Involved in Campus Life |

Campus Life (812) 941-2316 Learning extends beyond the classroom in over 80 student organizations including Greek Life, honorary societies, and academic/career related groups. Opportunities to choose from include: Accounting Club, Multicultural Student Union, Student Government Association, Volunteer Center, Christian Student Fellowship, Student Education Association, and Student Nurses' Association.
