IU Voluntary Benefits

IU Voluntary Benefits

Indiana University is committed to offering a benefits program that provides value while containing costs. IU full-time and part-time (appointed at 50% FTE or greater) employees, Graduate Assistants (37.5% FTE or greater), and Retirees now have access to a greater variety of plans in this offering of the IU Voluntary Benefits Program.

This program is designed around products that can help save money and protect assets. Enrollees pay 100 percent of the cost for plans in the program; however, the group rates are more affordable than what one would pay as an individual, and premiums for most plans can be paid for by a single, after-tax payroll deduction.

Enrollment can be done online.  To find out details about the plans, premium cost information, or to enroll, visit:

> IU Voluntary Benefits Web site

For questions regarding voluntary benefits, please contact Marsh Voluntary Benefits customer service, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time, at 1-866-795-6272.

P.A.T. Awards

At IU Southeast, we want to acknowledge a job well done. Everyone appreciates it when their hard work garners notice, and a new recognition program for our employees does just that. The Point After Touchdown, or P.A.T.Award, is given to an employee at IUS who has performed at an outstanding level. It is an award reserved for someone who truly has made a difference.

Employees are primarily nominated for the P.A.T. by their supervisor. Any IUS employee may submit a nomination, subject to the support of the nominee’s supervisor. The P.A.T. Award program provides non-monetary recognition for valuable IUS employees.

Outstanding Performance Criteria:    Outstanding performance is defined as "above and beyond" commitment to customer service or efficiency.  The outstanding performance can have a short-term or long-term effect on departmental or university objectives.  The P.A.T. Award should be reserved for someone who truly has made a difference.

Ask Yourself:   Was this employee's service above and beyond all expectations?  Has this employee made a difference in my office?  Does this employee's positive attitude have an impact on other employees?  How did this employee's effort contribute to a departmental objective and/or initiative in the IUS Strategic Plan?

Vice Chancellors submit approved forms to Human Resources to schedule an award ceremony. The ceremony consists of the Chancellor and reporting Vice Chancellor visiting the recipient to present the award and recognize the employee for their valued efforts. Human Resources will schedule the ceremony.
