Mark Shugarman's healthcare experience spans three decades in hospital leadership serving various capacities of planning, operations, and administration. He is an undergraduate of the University of Maryland and earned his Master's degree in Hospital Administration from George Washington University in Washington, DC. Prior to moving to New Albany to assume the role of President and CEO at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, Mark served as President and CEO of Mercy Hospital Clermont (Ohio) and Mercy Hospital Tiffin (Ohio), both partners in the Catholic Healthcare Partners network from 1993 to 2008.
In addition to the IU Southeast Board of Advisors, Mark currently sits on the American Hospital Association Regional Board of Directors, the Southern Indiana Rehab Hospital Board of Directors, and the Southern Indiana Economic Development Committee. He was very active in the 2008 American Heart Walk where FMHHS received the award for the largest contributor in Floyd and Clark counties. Mark is also a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
He resides in New Albany with his wife, Melody. They have two children - Carly and Jamie.
