Program Overview

The major in Chemistry provides a broad background in the Liberal Arts along with specialization in Chemistry. It includes 33 credit hours in Chemistry, 10 hours of Physics and 10 hours of Mathematics. This degree is the choice of pre-professional medicine and dentistry students. The chemistry department also offers a curriculum that is approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS) for those who are interested in a broader background in chemistry, especially students who are planning to attend graduate school or become professional chemists.

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry – American Chemical Society Certified

This program is designed for students interested in a strong and comprehensive preparation in chemistry and other related sciences. This is especially recommended for students who plan to pursue graduate studies in chemical sciences, including analytical, biological, inorganic, organic, medicinal, pharmaceutical, polymer, and physical chemistry, as well as those who are interested in pursuing further studies in chemical engineering or medical and allied medical fields. Students completing this program will receive a certificate from the American Chemical Society.
