Welcome to Education
Educators Engaged in GrowthGreetings! Here in the School of Education our focus is to develop high quality, caring professionals who are leaders in the continuous transformation of schools within a diverse society. In keeping with our mantra of "Educators in Engaged in Growth", we are pleased to be part of the changes in advising at Indiana University Southeast. These changes will allow the staff in the School of Education (SOE) to get to know the students interested in education as a career a lot sooner in their own academic career. We believe early and frequent advising of pre-education students will ensure they have the necessary tools to plan and prepare for admission to the SOE. We look forward to assisting all pre-education students on their academic journey. Please go to the left side of this page and click on Advising under Getting Started to begin your academic journey to become a high quality educator. We are committed to providing the highest quality pre-service teacher preparation and advanced programs in the nation. We are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and offer programs approved by the Indiana Office of Educator Licensing and Development and the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board. We encourage you to check out our wonderful SOE programs below. If you find there are additional questions regarding programs, please contact us at the numbers provided on this site. For questions directly to me, please feel free to send your e-mail to, glomurra@ius.edu. We look forward to seeing you in our SOE classrooms! Attention: Education Candidates Seeking Kentucky LicensureThe Kentucky EPSB is considering a regulation that will impact licensure applicants who complete their coursework at an out-of-state institution. This regulation will require candidates completing licensure requirements at an out-of-state institution to meet that state's licensure requirements, including testing, before applying for a Kentucky license. Candidates must also meet the Kentucky testing requirements. Candidates should continue to check with the IU Southeast license officers and/or the EPSB website for the date that this regulation will take effect.
