Web Publishing

Personal Web Pages Using Mypage

Web publishing services are available for all IU Southeast students, faculty and staff members using the service Mypage for serving personal web pages. Anyone with an IU Network ID may create a personal web page and publish it using Mypage.

Mypage sites are hosted on Mercury, a service provided by UITS. This is where you will log in and create, upload, or update your pages. Read more information about the Mypage service on Mercury.

Creating a Mypage/Mercury Account

For Personal Pages:
To create a Mypage Account on Mercury, log in to IU Account Management with your Network ID and follow the instructions for creating a Mercury account. Your account should be available within an hour after you create it, and will have a quota of 1GB. After your Mypage site is setup your website URL will be http://mypage.iu.edu/˜username, where "username" would be replaced with your IU Network ID.

For Student Organizations/Groups:
Student organizations (such as fraternities, sororities, clubs) can apply for web space using the service Webserve. Student groups who wish to use this server to publish university-related material may do so as long as the owner is a full time staff/faculty member who is ultimately responsible for the account and its use. At IU Southeast, student organization web spaces require sponsorship by your group’s faculty or staff advisor, who should apply for an account by going to the Web Accounts page on the IU Webmaster website.

For Faculty or Staff Organizations/Groups:
Faculty and staff organizations can apply for web space using the service Webserve . For more information on Webserve, including how to apply for an account please go to the Web Accounts page on the IU Webmaster website.

Help with legacy Homepages.ius.edu sites (formerly Spinweb)

To view your files on homepages.ius.edu, go to the URL to your homepages site, which will be "http://homepages.ius.edu/Username" where "Username" is your IU Network ID.

To edit your files on homepages.ius.edu (for PC users), log onto your IUS LAN account and go to drive W:. This drive will be mapped to your personal web publishing folder.
