NEW BUSINESS
"Pennies from Heaven" - Lesley Deal
Hosparus/Hospice sent a letter announcing the "Pennies from Heaven" Round Up for this year. Would Staff Council Members like to participate? Receptacles could be placed on counters or desks to collect pennies which would be taken to the Round Up on May 14th. There would be no direct cost for the Staff Council. A motion was made and seconded for Staff Council to participate as a group. The motion passed unanimously. If you wish to participate and need a jar/basket for collection, please contact Lesley Deal.
Relay for Life - Leslie Turner
Relay for Life is June 6th and 7th. Come out and walk if you can at Scribner Junior High School. The event begins at 5:00 p.m. Leslie distributed forms and envelopes to all those wishing to participate. Contact Trudy Walter or Veneda Keithley for more information. A car wash will be held May 31st from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at Sam's Club on Veteran's Parkway to benefit Relay for Life.
Ogle Center Request
Diana Holman sent an email noting an opportunity for contributing to the program which provides free plays for children at the Ogle Center. She asked if we would consider donating $100 for this cause. Discussion followed. The consensus of the Staff Council is that we will form a committee to create guidelines for contributions. The Ogle Center request will be tabled until the policy is completed. Cynthia Stevenson, Leslie Turner and Lisa Stark volunteered for the committee to formulate a policy. When the guidelines are completed, all pending requests for contributions will be considered.
