The mathematics program at IU Southeast is similar to those at other IU campuses. Beyond the general requirements for the bachelor of arts degree, mathematics majors are required to take the following courses: Three semesters of Calculus, a course in Linear Algebra, a course in Probability Theory, a course in the Foundations of the Number Systems and two semesters of courses at the 400 level (Analysis, Modern Algebra, or Topology).

Students are also required to take one additional course in mathematics, such as Differential Equations or Statistics. Students are strongly recommended to take electives in areas related to mathematics, such as computer science, chemistry, physics or education courses leading to teaching certification.
